Recent trip and upcoming project

I’m so excited to share some news and upcoming projects that I’ve been working on.  First, I recently acquired a new Wista 4x5 large format camera and tripod. The set up I had before wasn’t working for me so I felt it was time to upgrade.  I decided to take it on its maiden voyage, a 4-day road trip through Utah and Colorado.  Utah is absolutely stunning and is very much underrated.  It was this trip that would ultimately determine whether or not I would continue this project. Thankfully all the scans that I got back from the lab were to my liking.  So it’s a go!  I’m shooting this project all on 4x5 color film through the Wista.  I originally started this project with an 8x10 back in December but decided to go with 4x5 for personal reasons.  So far I’ve been to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and most recently Utah and Colorado, which roughly covers 4,526 miles.  Road trips are truly the only thing that keep me inspired to shoot.  Being out on the road listening to music, driving into small towns, and stumbling upon interesting scenes.  It’s hard to put into words but the feeling is immense.  As a young kid my family and I would road trip from Riverside to Alpine, TX, where my dad grew up.  I have the best memories from those trips and will continue to make them.  This time around I was joined by my girlfriend, Lisa, who has been so supportive throughout this project from the very beginning and my photography in general.

Below are a few BTS from the trip on my Yashica mat 124g.
